Who we are…

At Tough Kitty Flying we believe that flying is meant to be a fun and unforgettable adventure.

It is important for us to step away from the hustle and bustle of every day life and create adventures that bring fulfillment to both our aviation goals as well as enhancing our everyday quality of life.

Our instructors are well-rounded aviators with extensive backgrounds as military aviators, airline pilots, and general aviation addicts. We love the fun that comes with Seaplane flying, and we are excited to share the experience with you!

Where we are…

We operate on Big Indian Lake, located in Saint Albans, ME. The lake is approximately 3 miles long, and just under a mile wide. It makes the perfect runway with an orientation that generally favors any prevailing winds. The best part is that once we push off the dock, we can land in over 10 bodies of water and be back home in an hour.

Access to other great seaplane destinations can be reached in less than a 30 minute flight.

    • Bangor, ME is less than 1 hour away.

    • Portland, ME is 1 hour and 45 minutes.

    • Boston, MA is 3 hours and 20 minutes

Enjoy a road trip to Maine, or fly in and rent a car.

Pittsfield, ME airport (2B7) is less than 25 minutes away, if you fly in then we can provide a courtesy car.

  • Airbnb is a great place to look for lodging options.

We may have lodging available for your scheduled stay as well.

If you RV or enjoy camping, check out www.maineflying.org

    • ME62 is our local airfield that seconds as a popular Harvest Host destination.

Please inquire with us for more options.

  • Besides becoming the next best seaplane pilot, there are plenty of activities nearby. Bring the family and enjoy time at one of these beautiful destinations during your trip:
